| There lived in the city of Baghdad, during the reign of the Commander of the Faithful, Harun al-Rashid, a man named Sindbád the Hammál...
Alladin, Sinbad the Sailor, genies in lamps... they all come from her. Her StoryEvery day, the king would take a new wife and execute the one prior. It was now Scheherazade's turn as wife but she was smart and told the king one story for an entire night. Just as dawn broke, Scheherazade said she was sad she had to die because her next story would be even better. The king kept her alive for as long as she told her stories, 1,001 night to be exact. By the end, the king had learned lessons of morality and virtue from her tales and so Scheherazade was saved. Knowing King Henry could learn a thing or two from the Shahyar's wife, she was invited to Arcadia to spin her tales as a possible choice for entertainment of the day.
